Former JSC President Barbara Murphy to receive 2016 NEBHE Lifetime Achievement Award

The New England Board of Higher Education has chosen former Johnson State College President Barbara E. Murphy to receive the 2016 Eleanor M. McMahon Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Murphy retired in July 2015 after serving 14 years as president at the public liberal arts college in Johnson, Vermont. Prior to that, she was president of the Community College of Vermont, the state's only community college and, like JSC, a member of the Vermont State College system.

Norwich University welcomes Fulbright scholar in Peace and War studies

Norwich University welcomes David Last, PhD, as a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in the Peace and War Center this semester.

The program between Norwich University and the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the US establishes a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at Norwich University to focus on research pertaining to military and diplomatic affairs.

SVMC Gastroenterology welcomes Ashley Maranino, MD

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is pleased to welcome Gastroenterologist Ashley Maranino, MD, to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group.

Dr. Maranino received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. She completed residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Sarah C. Upham Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatobiliary Diseases at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.
