Tri-Town Weeklies gain new leadership

The Champlain Valley Newspaper Group has announced two promotions within its ranks that will strengthen its three weekly newspapers in the region.

Co-publishers Emerson, Angelo and Suzanne Lynn have tapped Milton Independent editor/reporter Courtney Lamdin to serve as executive editor of the Indy, Colchester Sun and Essex Reporter. Indy reporter Abby Ledoux was promoted to associate editor of the three papers.

Michael Stefanowicz to be Saint Michael’s College’s new admission director

Michael Stefanowicz will be the new Director of Admission for Saint Michael’s College after a national search.

Stefanowicz has worked in the College’s Admission Office for almost seven years, serving the last five as assistant director of admission. He is a 2009 Saint Michael’s graduate with a bachelor’s degree in history and religious studies, and completed his M.Ed at the College in 2015. He will formally assume his new duties July 1.

Vermont Butcher Shop plans Rutland shop

The Vermont Butcher Shop, the leading proprietor of “honest” meats and victuals from the Green Mountain State and surrounding area, will soon provide the newest ingredient in Rutland’s ongoing revitalization.

Nick DeLauri, co-owner as well as native son of Rutland, said The Vermont Butcher Shop closed on property on the northwest corner of Route 7 and Allen Street last Monday, and hopes to open the new store, the company’s third, by late June. The high-profile site, a former Texaco station, has sat empty for years.

Guest services coordinator hired for Vermont History Museum

The Vermont Historical Society has hired Ramsey Blair as Guest Services Coordinator. She is an experienced customer service representative with extensive administrative strengths. Merchandising and retail sales background combine with Ramsey’s Bachelor of Science Degree in History to fulfill customer needs for visitors at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier, Vermont History Center in Barre, and the VHS online store.

CSJ hosts VPR journalist Jane Lindholm for Women’s History Month celebration

Vermont Public Radio journalist Jane Lindholm will be presenting on women and their place in the media at College of St. Joseph on March 21.

Lindholm’s presentation will focus on her experience as a professional woman in Vermont, including the challenges she’s faced and how she’s been able to use occasions when she’s been underestimated as a reporter. It will also include a question and answer session.

Deanna Orfanidis, RN, named interim chief nursing officer at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Kevin W. Donovan, President and CEO of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced the appointment of Deanna Orfanidis, RN to the position of Interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. Ms. Orfanidis had previously been Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Orthopaedics and other service lines at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (DH).
