Mayor Weinberger appoints Danko as new director of Fletcher Free Library

Mayor Miro Weinberger today announced the appointment of Mary Danko as the new director of the Fletcher Free Library in the City of Burlington. Mary brings over 14 years of library experience, including three years as director of the Weathersfield Proctor Library and four years as director of the Hartland Public Library in Vermont. Mary currently runs the Abbott Library in Sunapee, New Hampshire, where she has served as Library Director for over four years. The Abbott Library was named Library of the Year by the New Hampshire Library Trustee Association in the fall of 2015.

CCVT board of directors elected, reappointed

Community Capital of Vermont (CCVT), a statewide, nonprofit community-based lending organization that provides loans to underserved businesspeople and new entrepreneurs, has selected officer and members of the board of directors for Fiscal Year 2017. Peggy Henry of VSECU has been appointed President, and Dave Keenan of Yankee Farm Credit is Vice President. Ed Read of Mad River Property Management is Treasurer, and Ela Chapin of the Vermont Housing Conservation Board’s Farm and Forest Viability Program is Secretary.

Alzheimer’s Association launches Vermont Leadership Board

The Alzheimer’s Association announces the launch of a brand new Leadership Board for the Vermont Chapter. Board members will dedicate their energy to promoting awareness of the Alzheimer's Association’s mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
