Rose Wunrow is the winner of the 2017 Vermont Writers’ Prize. Her story “Where We Start From,” is a poignant story of a young man returning to Vermont on a special mission as an expression of unconditional love. The story slowly reveals his intentions as it shows his deep connection with Vermont. The Vermont Writers’ prize is awarded annually by Green Mountain Power and Vermont Magazine.

Johanna Beliveau, BSN, MBA, RN has been named Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). The newly created position is part of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to Dr. Joseph Perras, CEO. As Director, Beliveau will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality and patient safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.

13 year old Cole Paquette of Bakersfield started the weekend with Super Bowl sized day at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Friday. It was trip to Gillette Stadium for his own personal tour that came to be after what Frank-fm morning host and program director TJ Michaels sent what he calls the “Hail Mary” E-mail. Paquette, who is battling a rapidly moving abdominal cancer is a huge Julian Edelman fan and watched the 5 time super bowl champs win the big game from his bed, recovering from treatments.

Daniel Duvernoy has been named general manager of the 97-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Manchester. Scheduled to open in early summer, the project began construction on Rt. 7A in Manchester in June 2016. Duvernoy, a resident of Cambridge, NY, was recently the general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites Saratoga Springs Downtown. At the property, he and his staff generated a record occupancy for the property. Prior to his appointment he was assistant general manager of the property from 2010 to 2015.
