New trustees join UVM Board

The University of Vermont Board of Trustees has added four new members with expertise in biomedical research, law, teaching, business and politics. Former Vermont Speaker of the House Shap Smith, an attorney at Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew; Rep Johannah Leddy Donovan (D-Burlington), a retired teacher; and Rep John Bartholomew (D-Windsor), a retired biomedical researcher and laboratory animal veterinarian; will serve six-year terms. They succeed outgoing legislative trustees Bill Botzow, Joan Lenes and Kesha Ram.

SRDC announce staff promotions

Springfield Regional Development Corporation (SRDC) Executive Director Bob Flint announced that two long-time SRDC employees have been promoted to new positions. Heather Hartford now serves as SRDC’s Assistant Director and Paul Kowalski has been named the Senior Project Manager. Hartford is a native of Springfield and has been with SRDC since 2014.

Eileen Maloney is product owner on two inntopia engineering teams

Inntopia, the Stowe-based software company welcomes Eileen Maloney to the Software Development team where she serves as Product Owner of two engineering teams: Continuing Engineering and Software Services. These teams are newly formed engineering teams focusing on meeting on our clients’ needs. For the past eight years, Eileen worked at Dealer.com where she was a Senior Manager on the Industry Data Team. She also previously worked at Sovernet Communications and Burlington Telecom.

Age Well welcomes new members to Board of Directors

Age Well, the leading experts and advocates for the aging population Northwestern Vermont, welcomed five new members to their Board of Directors. New board members include: David Carter (Senior Vice President and Senior Banker at People’s United Bank), Dr Kim Halladay (previous CEO of West Michigan’s Community Mental Health organization), Jim LeFerve (CEO of LeFevre & Associates), Dr Allan Ramsay (People’s Health & Wellness Clinic), and Sarah Tischler (Partner at Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP).

UVM Alumni Association President receives national award

Penrose Jackson, the director of community health improvement at The University of Vermont Medical Center and the president of the UVM Alumni Association, received the Association for Community Health Improvement’s (ACHI) first “Spirit of the Community Leadership Champion Award.” The national award, designed to recognize an individual in a leadership position who has championed policies that have elevated the organization’s community health practices to benefit at-risk populations, was presented to Jackson earlier in the month at the ACHI’s annual conference in Denver.
