Michael Schirling, Vermont’s Secretary of the Agency of Commerce & Community Development has announced that Ian Davis, 30, of South Burlington will replace Dan Towle as the next Director of Financial Services. The position is responsible for the marketing and business development for the State of Vermont’s Captive Insurance Industry. “This industry has continued to be an important contributor to our economy,” said Vermont Governor Phil Scott. “I have no doubt that Ian will continue the long standing tradition of representing Vermont as the ‘Gold Standard’ in this area.”

Two Saint Michael's College students have been chosen as 'college hockey's finest citizens' for their work spotlighting mental health awareness, especially among student athletes. The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced that the Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award will be awarded to James N Weinstein, DO, MS, CEO and president, Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system based in Lebanon, NH. The award recognizes people or organizations that have developed or introduced an influential, innovative approach to health care financing and/or health care delivery to improve access or coordination of care. Weinstein will receive the award at a ceremony at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, May 8 in Washington, DC.

Mayor Miro Weinberger and BTV Ignite partners today announced the appointment of Dennis Moynihan as the Executive Director of BTV Ignite, a non-profit dedicated to aligning Burlington’s powerful gigabit infrastructure as a tool, test bed, and accelerator for economic, educational, and community benefit. Moynihan will succeed Mike Schirling, who was selected by Governor Phil Scott to serve as Secretary of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development for the State of Vermont.
