Binder joins Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

Grant M Binder has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, where he will practice in the Business Law Group and work from the firm’s Burlington office. He comes to DRM after 14 years with the international law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he was based in New York and worked on domestic and international business and financing transactions.

Dupuis joins VT Commercial as an intern

Nick Dupuis joins VT Commercial as an intern for the Fall of 2017. Nick is a student at the University of Vermont pursuing a degree in Community Entrepreneurship with a minor in Spanish. Nick is also an NCAA Division 1 student-athlete as a part of the Catamount men’s lacrosse team. He is a two-time America East Academic Honor Roll selection. He is a native of San Francisco, California and has gained prior experience in commercial real estate while working for Cushman & Wakefield in the Bay Area.

Stern Center’s Price presents at Binghamton University

Peggy Price, MEd, Fellow/AOGPE, Director of the Orton-Gillingham Institute at the Stern Center for Language and Learning, was asked to speak at her alma mater, Binghamton University. On September 15, Price returned to the Binghamton, NY campus where she received her bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She spoke to undergraduate ABA students about career paths in education at the University’s Institute for Child Development, a center for children with developmental and learning disorders.

VEC announces Brown joining Community Relations team

Beth Sachs honored with VBSR Lifetime Achievement Award

On September 14th, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibly (VBSR) honored Beth Sachs with the 2017 Terry Ehrich Award for Lifetime Achievement. Sachs, the co-founder of Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) who “was never good at following rules,” was honored in front of nearly 200 VBSR members, friends, and guests who gave her two standing ovations at VBSR’s 16th Annual Award Ceremony and Dinner at Basin Harbor.

Dr Lewis First selected as the 2017 Distinguished Citizen

The Green Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of America announced the selection of Dr Lewis R First as its 2017 Distinguished Citizen of the Year. Dr First’s contributions to Vermont and the children of the state will be celebrated at a dinner on Thursday, October 19 at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Burlington. Dr First was selected by the Executive Board of the Green Mountain Council for the Citizen of the Year Award for his extensive community, regional and national leadership and continual devotion to the betterment and improvement in the lives of the children of Vermont.

Burlington native Carter ordained at St Michael’s

Edmundite Deacon Michael R Carter, a native of Burlington and a 2012 Saint Michael’s College graduate, was ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, Sept 16, at the Chapel of St Michael the Archangel on the Saint Michael’s campus in Colchester. Burlington Bishop Christopher J Coyne was the presider and homilist for the 11 am Mass, and ordained Carter. The Society of Saint Edmund, or “Edmundites,” founded Saint Michael’s College, and they are based on campus.

DRM attorneys named Senior Fellows of Litigation Counsel of America
