Grant M Binder has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, where he will practice in the Business Law Group and work from the firm’s Burlington office. He comes to DRM after 14 years with the international law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he was based in New York and worked on domestic and international business and financing transactions. Binder’s practice is focused on strategic and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, complex commercial agreements, securities law compliance and financing transactions. His clients range from emerging growth companies to established multinational corporations. He is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience advising clients on cross-border transactions, particularly in Latin America, and in the food and beverage industry.
“We’re very pleased to find someone of Grant’s caliber to join our Business Law Group, and we’re delighted to welcome Grant and his family to Vermont,” said David J Sylvester, who chairs the Business Law Group at DRM. “He brings a unique set of skills to the practice that will benefit our business clients and complement the work of the other attorneys in the group.”
Binder is a graduate of the University of Iowa and of the New York University School of Law. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala before attending law school.
