BMH hires new Orthopaedic Administrative Director
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) recently welcomed Kristyn Wood as the new Administrative Director of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. “Kristyn comes to us with impressive experience in specialty practice management, and a great understanding of the ever-evolving health care field,” said Steven R. Gordon, President and CEO of BMH. “We’re excited to work with her to further develop our orthopaedic and sports medicine services here at BMH.”
Bonvechio honored as Outstanding Community Service Banker
Community National Bank President and CEO Kathy Austin proudly announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Louise Bonvechio was presented with the Vermont Bankers Association’s Outstanding Community Service Banker Award at the Vermont and New Hampshire Bankers Annual Conference. Each year, the Outstanding Community Service Banker Award is given to a banker from each state who exemplifies the best in the banking profession and in service to their communities.
Attorney O’Brien joins Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC
Attorney Evan J O’Brien has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, where he will practice in the Litigation Practice Group and work from the firm’s Burlington office. O’Brien joins DRM after two years with the New York firm of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP and a year as law clerk to Chief Judge Christina Reiss of the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont. He also returns to the firm where he once served as a summer associate while in law school.
Marlboro College President Quigley appointed to NEBHE
Marlboro College President Kevin F F Quigley has been named to the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) by Vermont Gov Phillip B. Scott. Before joining Marlboro, Quigley served as Peace Corps country director in Thailand, and as president and CEO of the National Peace Corps Association, a global alumni organization for the more than 200,000 former Peace Corps staff and volunteers.
New Executive Director at the Special Needs Support Center
Laura Perez has recently joined the team at the Special Needs Support Center in Lebanon, NH. She brings more than fifteen years of experience in community organization and program development including fundraising, education, and outreach with a goal of enhancing community wellness. Her baccalaureate education focused on the politics of poverty at the domestic and international levels and community education as a force for social change. Laura recently graduated from Norwich University with a Master’s in Business Administration with a Strategic Organizational Leadership Focus.
Girls on the Run Vermont announces staff appointments
Girls on the Run Vermont is pleased to announce several staff appointments: Rachel Desautels of Williston, VT has been promoted to Statewide Program Manager; Jenny Fuller of Burlington, VT has been promoted to Statewide Program Administrator and Sarah Levine of East Dummerston, VT has joined the organization as Central & Southern Vermont Program Coordinator.
Morehouse to receive the 2017 Con Hogan Award
The Vermont Community Foundation and the organizing committee for the Con Hogan Award for Creative, Entrepreneurial, Community Leadership are pleased to announce that Holly Morehouse, Executive Director of Vermont Afterschool, Inc, will be honored with this year’s award. The $15,000 award, to be used however the recipient chooses, will be presented to Morehouse at a reception on October 4th at the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier.
VLT announces Richardson as new President
On December 1, 2017, the statewide nonprofit conservation organization, the Vermont Land Trust (VLT), will have a new President. Nick Richardson, most recently Vice President for Finance and Enterprise at VLT, will take the helm. Nick has been at VLT for more than five years and is recognized by the organization, partners and members for his creativity, hard work and passion for Vermont.
Beardsley, Simpson and Collamore named to VAB Hall of Fame
Two veteran radio broadcasters will join Vermont’s first female television news director in this year’s Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame class. Radio Vermont’s Tom Beardsley, Catamount Radio’s Brian Collamore and WCAX-TV’s Judy Simpson will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet December 2 at the Hilton Burlington. Distinguished Service Awards will be presented to Lynn Beaudoin of Vermont Broadcast Associates, Mark Esbjerg of Sison Broadcasting and Steve Pelkey of Hall Communications.
