SVHC adds Kelly to Board of Trustees

Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) has announced the appointment of Stephen Kelly to its Board of Trustees. “Stephen has an accomplished background in helping non-profit organizations fulfill their missions while meeting their financial and regulatory obligations,” said Tommy Harmon, SVHC board chair. “I anticipate that he will make important contributions to our work, and I am delighted to have him join our organization.”

Winooski Family Center receives Sally Fox Award

The Winooski Family Center was recently presented with the 2017 Sally Fox Award from the Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation. Each year, the Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation honors Senator Sally Fox by presenting an award in her memory to a Vermont non-profit organization that provides direct services of exceptional merit to children ages birth to 18. The recipient of this year’s award is the Winooski Family Center, a collaboration of Howard Center, the City of Winooski, and the Winooski Housing Authority.

COTS honors volunteers, community partners

The Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) hosted its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 27, at the First Congregational Church of Burlington. The event is an opportunity to honor the extraordinary contributions by volunteers, community partners and local businesses that support COTS work to end homelessness. The recipients were chosen for their outstanding service and commitment to assist and advocate for our neighbors struggling with homelessness or those who are marginally housed.
