Wagner elected to NEIBA board

Beth Wagner, lead buyer at Phoenix Books, has been elected to the position of Director on the New England Independent Booksellers Association (NEIBA) Board of Directors.

Beth Wagner is the lead buyer and tech guru at Phoenix Books. Like most career booksellers, she’s worn a lot of hats over the years since starting part-time at The Book Rack & Children’s Pages in 2000, including newsletter and website editor, manager, sidelines buyer, and children’s buyer. She served as co-chair on NEIBA's New England Children’s Booksellers Advisory Council from 2016-18.

Kenney, MBA, CPA, named CVMC’s chief financial officer

Stephen F Kenney, MBA, CPA, was recently named chief financial officer for Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) after an extensive nationwide search, President and Chief Operating Officer Anna T Noonan announced today.

Kenney, a native of Maine, returns to New England and brings to CVMC more than 25 years’ experience in health care, finance and enterprise resource planning. His most recent role was senior director for Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.

Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing announces new hires

The Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, a division of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, announced two new hires. Nate Formalarie has been named Communications Director and Sara DeFilippi has been named Sales and Marketing Specialist. Both will work to further the department’s mission of promoting Vermont’s travel, recreation, cultural and historic attractions to national and international audiences, as well as contribute to the agency’s work in growing the State’s economy.

Rural Community Transportation announces D’Agostino as new CEO/ED

Rural Community Transportation is delighted to announce that Nick D’Agostino has been hired as the new Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director! Nick D’Agostino comes to RCT with more than 20 years of significant leadership experience. Before joining RCT, Nick was the Regional Director of Stagecoach Transportation in Randolph, which provides public bus service and non-emergency medical transportation to residents of Orange and north Windsor counties. He previously held executive-level positions in several for-profit companies in Vermont, New Hampshire and Washington.

Vermont Delegation attends ReadyNation Global Business Summit on Early Childhood

ReadyNation convened in New York City last week for the Global Business Summit on Early Childhood, attracting hundreds of business leaders from across the US and representatives from over 50 countries, all with the common goal of coming together to better understand how businesses could help advance care for children from birth to age five. Vermont sent a delegation of five business professionals, led by Emily Blistein, Director of Business Strategy for Let’s Grow Kids.
