Maggiotto becomes regional chamber’s next president
The Bennington Regional Chamber of Commerce has replaced Dr. David Evans, who was voted as the board of director’s president in January of 2019 at the chamber’s annual membership meeting, with first vice president Brian Maggiotto effective immediately.
Evans, who was the president of the now-closed Southern Vermont College, was recently appointed interim president of the American University of Bulgaria. Evans stepped down as president of Southern Vermont College May 24th.
Martin to join Let’s Grow Kids
Let’s Grow Kids (LGK) is pleased to announce that Calais attorney Trey Martin, currently a director at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC (DRM), has been hired as LGK’s general counsel and chief strategy officer. In this role, Martin will oversee LGK’s overarching legal, policy and political strategy as the organization pursues its mission to achieve affordable access to high-quality child care for all Vermont families by 2025. Martin’s first day at LGK will be July 15.
Springfield Rotary Club news
Rotarian Josh Dufresne recently accepted the gavel from outgoing club President Jeff Mobus. Dufresne begins his term as the Club President on July 1, 2019. Also, Michelle and Tyler Putnam congratulated Elizabeth Parker of Springfield, who was recently selected as the recipient of this year's Paul Putnam Memorial Agriculture Scholarship by the Springfield Rotary Club. Parker, who will be attending the University of Connecticut, received $1,000 and will be pursuing a degree in an ag-related field.
