Col. Matthew T. Birmingham, director of the Vermont State Police, is pleased to announce the following promotion: Sgt. Matthew Daley, patrol commander at the New Haven Barracks, to lieutenant/station commander at the New Haven Barracks. Lt. Daley has served the people of Vermont since 2005, when he began his state police career as a trooper at the Shaftsbury Barracks. He transferred to the St. Albans Barracks in 2007, then joined the Traffic Safety Unit in January 2010. That summer, he became a detective trooper in the Criminal Division with the Narcotics Investigation Unit.

He earned a promotion to sergeant/patrol commander at the Middlesex Barracks in 2016.

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has selected Chris Flannery as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following an extensive national search. Flannery comes to VHFA from Oak Ridge Financial in Minneapolis, where he served as Managing Director, Structured Finance. Prior to working at Oak Ridge, Flannery served as VHFA’s Financial Advisor from 2005 to 2017 while working at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis.

On August 1, 2019, the Friends in Adoption (FIA) Board of Directors unanimously appointed Tara Saltis as the new Executive Director of FIA. For the past 15 years, Tara has served as FIA’s Director of Operations and Finance. The Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Lebanon board of directors and a new chair, vice chair and four new members to its Friends South board. As active community members, each person will serve as an ambassador for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center to people in Vermont and New Hampshire, finding ways to increase awareness and fundraising for this nationally recognized center.

The Burlington Republican Committee elected Kolby LaMarche to the position Committee Chair on Tuesday, September 17th. Kolby, 17, is a senior at Burlington High School, and has been involved in Republican causes in Vermont for a number of years.
