CHT announces staff promotions

Following the announcement of a CEO leadership transition this summer, the Champlain Housing Trust is making additional changes in its leadership team. As Michael Monte prepares to take over as CEO in January, 2021 from Brenda Torpy, his chief financial officer duties will immediately be assumed by Cheryl Read.

Read is currently the Director of Human Resources and Chief Administrative Officer. A resident of Charlotte, she has worked for CHT since 2008, initially with CHT’s Housing Loan Fund before transitioning into her current role in 2017.

Dan Wyand Physical Therapy & Associates welcomes Galarza

Dan Wyand Physical Therapy & Associates and Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) welcomes physical therapist Erin Galarza PT, DPT, OCS. Galarza has over seven years’ experience as an outpatient orthopedic therapist treating orthopedic conditions, aquatic therapy, and pelvic health. She received her Doctorate from Pacific University in 2013 and received her Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2018.

North Central Vermont Recovery Center hires marketing & communications coordinator

The North Central Vermont Recovery Center (NCVRC) is pleased to announce that they have appointed Tess Milner as their Marketing & Communications Coordinator. She will oversee strategic communications including the NCVRC’s social media, website design, newsletters, and press releases for the organization as well as other marketing opportunities.

Norwich University earns regional architecture award for Montpelier playground outdoor classroom

Norwich University’s Design+Build Collaborative earned a design excellence Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects, New England chapter for a project to design and build NEST, an outdoor classroom/playhouse as part of playground renovations at Montpelier’s Union Elementary School.

Their entry was one of 163 from across the region.

Norwich University Architecture Professor Tolya Stonorov and her students partnered with the school and the community on the project.

DuBois & King welcomes Hart, EI, mechanical engineer

DuBois & King is pleased to announce that Courtney Hart, EI, has joined the firm’s Building Services Division as a mechanical engineer. Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering technology from Vermont Technical College. She previously worked for a Vermont mechanical contractor providing mechanical design services for commercial buildings, hospitals, and hotels. At DuBois & King, Courtney is providing mechanical and plumbing on projects throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. She is based in the firm’s Waterbury office.

Grace holds a master’s degree in field naturalist and ecological planning from the University of Vermont and a bachelor’s degree in botany from Connecticut College. She brings to the firm a strong background in botany, forestry, invertebrate biology, ornithology, microbiology, macrobiology, inland and coastal aquatic ecosystems, vernal pools, and landscapes and soils.
