HCRS’ annual meeting zooms into the future

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS), southeastern Vermont’s non-profit community mental health agency, held its annual meeting on November 12 for the first time via the international video chat platform, Zoom. Attended by 175 board members, staff, clients, and community members, the event celebrated the agency’s accomplishments and impact on clients during its last fiscal year.

RE/MAX Agent starts virtual tour company

After 16 years as a RE/MAX agent, Colchester resident John Abry saw the need for a reasonably priced virtual tour service. “One of my frustrations in the real estate business has been that photography services are often fragmented and difficult to coordinate,” said Abry.

Seeing a need not only within the real estate community but in business and the general public as well, Abry formed Vermont Virtual Tours.

Danielle Nickerson promoted to assistant administrator of Mayo Healthcare in Northfield

Danielle Nickerson, LNHA, of Bethel, has advanced to the position of assistant administrator at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield. Danielle will assist with oversight of Mayo’s staffing, financial administration, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Mayo Healthcare offers residential care and assisted living, skilled nursing, continuing care, and rehabilitation services. The healthcare facility helps patients remain as independent as possible.

Robert Letovsky joins Ethan Allen Institute board

Faculty news from a recent newsletter of the Ethan Allen Institute in Concord VT, which bills itself as "Vermont’s free-market public policy research and education organization" and a “think tank" founded in 1993: “EAI is proud to announce Robert Letovsky, the David LaMarche Professor of Business Administration & Accounting at Saint Michael’s College, joined our board of directors this Fall. Robert’s teaching and research have focused on business strategy, business-government relations, international business and marketing.

Paramount Theatre promotes Mallette to Executive Director as Bouchard retires

The Paramount Theatre Board of Directors has promoted long-time Paramount staff member Eric Mallette to the position of Executive Director. Mallette had been serving as Interim Executive Director since July 1, 2020 following the announcement that long-serving Executive Director Bruce Bouchard would be retiring at the end of the calendar year. Bouchard has been serving in the role of fundraising and development since Mallette’s interim appointment. Prior to the promotion, Mallette had been the theatre’s Programming Director.

Center for Global Resilience and Security names new board member

Norwich University’s Center for Global Resilience and Security (CGRS) named Dr John R Mullin to its advisory board. His three-year term began Oct. 20. Mullin is emeritus professor of regional planning in the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Department, associate director of its Center for Economic Development and former dean of its Graduate School. His research and professional interests focus on industrial revitalization, port development and downtown planning.
