HCRS hires quality director

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS), southeastern Vermont’s community mental-health agency, announced it has hired Rhett Sorensen [shown in attached photo] as its Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance.

Sorensen joins the non-profit agency with over 17 years of experience in the health care industry with more than 10 of those years specializing in quality assurance and compliance. Most recently, he was the Director of Compliance for 52 long-term care facilities and developed the quality assurance program for a home health and hospice organization.

MENTOR Vermont announces recipients of the 2020-2021 Vermont Mentoring Grants

MENTOR Vermont is excited to announce the recipients of the 2020-2021 Vermont Mentoring Grants, which provide funding for youth mentoring programs throughout the state. This year, MENTOR Vermont awarded 24 grants, totaling $347,850, which will support more than 100 new and existing program sites, and nearly 1,500 adult-to-youth mentor pairs in communities across Vermont.

Attorney Gary Franklin has been named the Managing Shareholder and Board Chair for the Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer law firm. The Firm also welcomes new board members, Alexandra Edelman and Kevin Henry.

Gary Franklin has spent the last 21 years building a successful litigation practice in Vermont, having previously worked in New York and California. He also previously served as the President of both the Chittenden County Bar and the Vermont Bar Associations.

Amanda Moser has been promoted to Partner, following her accomplishments and leadership as Tax Manager for the past 6 years at McSoley McCoy & Co. Amanda specializes in tax compliance and consulting for business and individuals in a variety of industries including manufacturing, hospitality, and professional services.

Danielle Bissonnette has been promoted to Tax Director. Danielle’s career with MMC began in 2006 upon her graduation from St. Michael’s College.

Local primary care practitioner earns board certification in lifestyle medicine

Charlestown Health Center is proud to announce the board certification of Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Grace St. Pierre in the specialty of Lifestyle Medicine. Grace earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Simmons College Boston in 2017 and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C) in 2016. Her recent board certification in Lifestyle Medicine strengthens the field of primary care and enhances the services provided to area residents.
