SVHC announces DAISY Award winner

Emily Boysen, MSN, RN, CCRN, of the Intensive Care Unit, was the August recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC).

“Emily understands that expert clinical skills are only half of what her patients need,” said Pamela Duchene, PhD, APRN, SVHC’s chief nursing officer and vice president for Patient Care Services. “They also need sensitivity and compassion, and Emily takes the extra time to ensure they feel cared for.”

Rockwell Thon hired as development director at PCAVT

Prevent Child Abuse Vermont is happy to announce that Mary Rockwell Thon has been hired to be their Development Director. Mary Rockwell Thon has worked more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector, most recently for the Alzheimer’s Association and BAYADA Hospice. She brings varied experience, including community outreach and engagement, volunteer support, event planning, and donor relations. Mary will grow the reach of PCAVT through increased awareness and funding through individual and corporate giving and events such as the Walk for Children will be central to her work.

Doiron named July’s Employee of the Month by MAHHC

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Nicholas Doiron, a Dietary Aide with the Nutrition Services staff at the Hospital, has been chosen as Employee of the Month for July, 2021. The monthly award recognizes employees who have demonstrated sustained service excellence in their respective departments and have displayed compassion, a caring approach, and continuous hard work within their community.
