New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) announced recently that Kara Danaher has joined the credit union as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Kara is a native Vermonter who graduated from the University of Vermont (UVM) with a degree in Education and a concentration in Mathematics. After a successful career as a real estate agent that began in 2013, Kara chose to pursue new challenges in mortgage financing.

Northeast Delta Dental announces the appointment of Ryan King as Director of Human Resources. Ryan brings several years of experience as a strategic human resources leader, driving cultural transformation, engaging leaders and employees and improving operating efficiency. As director of human resources, Ryan will be responsible for creating and implementing programs for employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

Vermont Lt. Governor Molly Gray announces the hiring of incoming Chief of Staff, Andrew Gillespie. “I am pleased to welcome Andrew to the Lt. Andrew Hoak, PE, PG, has been promoted to Director of DuBois & King’s (D&K) Environmental Services Division. Andy is a hydrogeologist and civil engineer working on dam rehabilitation and removal, stormwater, water quality enhancement, hazardous material remediation, and civil engineering, including water sourcing, slope protection, and on-site wastewater disposal systems. He also enjoys agricultural water quality projects and is a Natural Resources Conservation Service Technical Service Provider in Vermont and New York.

The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce hosted their third golf tournament, the Fall B2B Golf Classic, on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Mount Anthony Country Club in Bennington, Vermont.

A sunny fall day on the first of October saw ten teams, made up of 40 plus business and nonprofit golfers total, hit the greens for a shotgun start at 12:30 pm at the course.

University of Vermont Assistant Professor Victoria “Vicki” Hart, Ph.D., was honored with the 2021 University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) New England Region Exemplary Teaching Award.
