Tove Wear was established in 2017 and built around an innovative wrap-around denim skirt dubbed "The Maker Skirt". Locally designed by Tove Ohlander, a glass factory owner at AO Glass who wanted women's work-wear with personality, these skirts have jumped into a movement already in full swing: women making stuff and/or making a difference.
Vermont Tech’s Sabol elected chair of Vermont Board of Professional Engineering
Professor Scott A. Sabol, P.E., of the Architectural and Building Engineering Technology Department at Vermont Technical College, was elected chair of the Vermont Board of Professional Engineering at its October meeting.
The Board, one of many addressing licensure and practice of various professions in Vermont, operates under the auspices of the Secretary of State’s office. Prof. Sabol, a licensed structural Professional Engineer, has been a Board member since 2016 and previously as Secretary to the Board.
Norwich University professor honored for service in math education
Norwich University’s Robert Poodiack, professor and chair of the Mathematics Department, has won the 2022 Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Certificate for Meritorious Service for the Northeastern Section.
This award is presented to someone who has displayed dedicated service at a sectional or national level, and is rotated among the association’s sections; each section may nominate someone every five years. This is the first time anyone from Norwich University has received an association award.
Employee milestones celebrated by Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) commemorated employment milestones for 32 employees at its annual Employee Service Awards, and held a catered event at the the Silo in Windsor on November 4th, 2021. Dr. Joseph Perras, President and CEO, Chief Medical Officer, gave welcoming remarks congratulating the staff members on their service and dedication to community health over the course of many years.
Kevin Geiger appointed to Climate Catalyst Program
Kevin Geiger was selected to participate in the Climate Catalyst program of the Vermont Council on Rural Development. He will join other local leaders from around the state for the next year in working on addressing climate change.
