Make-A-Wish Vermont board elects new chair, four new members

Make-A-Wish Vermont has elected Christian Kuzia, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Burlington Harbor, as chair of its board of directors for a two-year term, and appointed four new board members.

Kuzia has served on the Make-A-Wish board for the past two years and is an active member of the Burlington community. He currently serves as vice chair of the Burlington Business Association and is a past board member of the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce and the Vermont Convention Bureau.

Stowe Electric names new general manager

Jackie Pratt, director of advocacy and customer experience at Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations in Massachusetts, has been named general manager of the Stowe Electric Department, effective Oct 17. She will succeed Ellen Burt, who has led the department for the past 18 years.

Pratt is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA, and holds an MBA in sustainable business from Green Mountain College in Poultney.

James MacGregor, MD, joins SVMC General Surgery

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center recently welcomed James MacGregor, MD, to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group and SVMC General Surgery in Bennington. He joins Julie DiSano, Simon Drew, Graham Moore and Charles Salem in providing minimally invasive surgery using the latest evidence-based protocols.

MacGregor received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. He completed his residency in general surgery at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix.
