Steve Parren honored for animal conservation efforts

Steve Parren (right), former coordinator of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources' Wildlife Diversity Program, was honored Oct 1 as 2022 winner of the Sally Laughlin Award for the Conservation of Endangered and Threatened Species.

The award is presented annually by the natural resources department secretary to a person who has shown leadership in advancing knowledge, understanding and conservation of endangered and threatened species and their habitats in Vermont.

Bee’s Wrap in Middlebury appoints Brendan Taylor as CEO

Bee’s Wrap in Middlebury, a manufacturer of reusable, all-natural food-storage wraps, has hired Brendan Taylor of Shelburne as CEO. Taylor comes to Bee’s Wrap following two years as CEO of the luxury laundry detergent brand The Laundress. He holds an MBA in marketing from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Taylor is working closely with founder Sarah Kaeck, who remains on the Bee’s Wrap board of directors and is involved in the business as an adviser.

Ledyard Financial Group appoints Peter Sprudzs as SVP and CFO

Ledyard Financial Group, the holding company for Ledyard National Bank, announced that Peter Sprudzs has joined the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Greg Steverson, who will be retiring from Ledyard in December after 20 years with the company.

Sprudzs brings many years of experience in finance, treasury and risk management for public and private companies both large and small. He served most recently as chief finance and risk officer at BMG Money.
