Travis Sheldon receives Water Operator of the Year Award
Travis Sheldon, deputy director of water quality and operations at the Champlain Water District in South Burlington, was presented with the Michael J. Garafano Water Operator of the Year Award by the Green Mountain Water Environment Association at its annual conference May 25 in Killington. This award is presented to an operator for outstanding performance in system maintenance, protecting public health and achievement beyond normal responsibilities.
Lavalla promoted to director of product development at Vermont Teddy Bear
Angela Lavalla, who has previously served as technical design manager, has been promoted to director of product development at The Vermont Teddy Bear Co. In this new role, Lavalla will lead the development of all products across the company's Teddy Bear brand, and apparel brands.
Lavalla has served in the technical design department since 2014 and has seen the company through its growth since that time. Prior to Vermont Teddy Bear, she was a costume designer for film and television in Los Angeles.

Harder to take command of Vermont Air National Guard
Brig. Gen. Henry Harder Jr., assistant adjutant general of the Vermont Air National Guard, will take command of the unit from Brig. Gen. Steven Lambrecht during a ceremony June 3 at the Air Guard base in South Burlington. Following the change of command ceremony, a retirement ceremony will be held for Lambrecht.
