Berkshire Bank welcomes new wealth management team members

Berkshire Bank, a community bank with financial centers in New England and New York, welcomed four new hires to its wealth management team. They are Lewis Mai, investment adviser and financial planner; John Muse, vice president, investment adviser and financial planner; Rebecca Rubino, vice president and wealth adviser; and Andrew Pranci, vice president and wealth portfolio manager.

BSD appoints Melanee Alexander principal of Hunt Middle School

Melanee Alexander, former assistant principal at Burlington High School, has been named principal of Lyman C. Hunt Middle School, one of two middle schools in the Burlington School District. She begins her new position on July 1.

“I am thrilled to welcome Principal Alexander as the next leader of HMS,” said district Superintendent Tom Flanagan. “In her time at BHS, she has been a committed leader and has made a significant impact in our district. I know she will carry this forward and be a great asset to Hunt Middle School.”

VBSR welcomes Madison Wood as membership and development manager

Madison Wood, former graduate training program manager at BNP Paribas in New York City, has joined Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility as membership and development manager.

In her new role, Wood develops and implements VBSR’s strategic approach to membership recruitment, retention and engagement in addition to fundraising for the organization’s Expanding Our Movement Fund.

UVM Medical Center president recognized as ‘trailblazer’ in field

Dr. Stephen Leffler, president and chief operating officer of the University of Vermont Medical Center, was recently recognized by the medical news publication Becker's Hospital Review as one of "101 academic medical center CEOs to know" for 2023.

The publication noted that Leffler, prior to assuming his current position in 2020, had served as an emergency room physician, chief population health quality officer and chief medical officer at UVM Medical.
