Vt. National Guard adjutant general wins diversity award

Maj. Gen. Gregory Knight, adjutant general of the Vermont National Guard, has been named recipient of the National Guard Excellence in Diversity Award for fiscal 2022.

The award is presented to Army National Guard members who stand out from among their peers by consistently and significantly contributing to diversity and inclusion initiatives and ideas, institutionalizing best practices, building measurable milestones and attaining individual or group diversity and inclusion goals.

Chamber director graduates from organization management institute

Matt Harrington, executive director of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, recently graduated from the Institute for Organization Management at Villanova University, a program administered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The institute is the professional-development program of choice for chamber of commerce professionals, providing a rigorous curriculum that covers topics crucial to enhancing chamber leadership and effectiveness. Participants undergo a four-year program consisting of intensive courses that span a week each year.
