COLCHESTER, VT… Green Mountain Power (NYSE:GMP)
has announced that on March 20, 2006, Robert Griffin, who has been with Green
Mountain Power since 1982 and served as Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer for the past three years, will take on the new position of Vice
President, Power Supply and Risk Management. This position was created to help
the Company respond appropriately to the volatile wholesale power supply market
and the challenges associated with exploring long-term power contracts over the
course of the next several years.

CVPS reorganizes board, adds three Vermonters
RUTLAND Continuing a previously announced plan to restore itself to a financially stable position, Central Vermont Public Service (NYSE-CV) has announced a restructuring of its board of directors.
The restructuring of the board is an important component of our overall goal of returning CVPS to a strong financial position, CVPS Board Chair Frederic H. Bertrand said. Each existing board member has served the company well, but we ve narrowed our focus to the core Vermont business through the sale of Catamount Energy Corp., and we are reorganizing the board to add more Vermont insights and expertise. To maximize board continuity and leadership, the restructuring will occur gradually and incrementally, though some changes will be immediate.

Mike Becker, a senior at Vermont Technical College and a Dufresne-Henry employee, has recently been named Student Engineer of the Year by the college.
VTC selects one student each year for this honor as part of National Engineers Week. Becker was selected based on his grade point average, performance on projects, and overall willingness to learn and assist his fellow students. He was recently honored at an awards banquet hosted by the Vermont Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies at the Sheraton in South Burlington.
Becker is a senior at VTC who will earn his B.S. in architectural engineering technology this May. He has been working for Dufresne-Henry as a computer-aided design and drafting, or CADD, technician since 2000, when he completed a B.A. in visual arts at Marlboro College. He currently lives in Brattleboro but grew up in Springfield.

Good Point Recycling of Middlebury, Vermont, has announced the recycling of its ten millionth pound of electronics. Truex Cullins & Partners Architects was recently selected to perform a Facility Study for the International School of Prague (ISP) in the Czech Republic. Truex Cullins & Partners Architects was selected out of several international architecture firms who submitted proposals for this project.

Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT) announced that it has selected Portsmouth, New Hampshire based Pannaway Technologies as its hardware vendor to deliver next-generation broadband services to its 21,000 subscribers. WCVT is deploying Pannaways award-winning IP Packet-based Service Convergence Network (SCNTM) products in 18 remote switching sites with 35 additional sites to follow. This will allow WCVT to upgrade its network with ADSL2+ technology that offers increased reliability and even faster Internet speeds to subscribers.

Vermont State Auditor Randy Brock's report dictated that the Department of Public Safety (DPS) should seek repayment of $30,976 from three local government entities: $7,508 from the Village of Johnson; $19,650 from the Town of Norwich; and $3,818 from Rutland County Clerks Collaborative (RCCC).

Waltham, MA and Rochester, NY February 10, 2006 CTC Communications and Choice One Communications today announced their agreement to enter into a merger of equals, creating one of the largest competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) in the United States, and the largest privately held CLEC in the Northeast. Post merger, the combined entity is expected to generate over $550 million in annual revenues by serving over 100,000 customers by way of over 1,000,000 access line equivalents. The companies combined network will consist of 7,000 route miles of fiber connecting 630 collocations. The current shareholders of Choice One and CTC will each own exactly 50% of the combined firm.
