Vermont Business Magazine Weekly unemployment claims last week more than doubled last week. While this is typical for this time of year, last week out-paced last year's numbers. Claims have been above year-to-year results most of this year, but had recently been running below last year's levels. Most industrial sectors saw at least some increase, with Services taking the biggest hit with 750 claims alone, up 460 claims in one week.
