BURLINGTON, Vt.--Some Champlain College students have been hitting the bricks of the Church Street Marketplace, but this time they arent shopping. Students in Champlains Consumer Behavior course this semester are working with five businesses on the Marketplace to complete store-specific marketing research.
This is the second semester to feature such projects, which bring clipboard-carrying Marketing and Business students to the pedestrian marketplace. Last spring students worked with eight businesses on Church Street, while others conducted research for Church Street Marketplaces director Ron Redmond.
It had been difficult to acquire market research because of our budget restrictions, said Marketplace director Ron Redmond. Champlain College students answered our call.

Janet brings to the Credit Union over 20 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, taxation, public accounting and administration. associate professor of history, and Terryl Kinder, author of Architecture
of Silence: Cistercian Abbeys of France, with George Dameron, Saint

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Berlin, VT - A physician guide about domestic violence will be distributed to all Vermont primary care providers, emergency room providers and OB/GYNs as part of a New England-wide project, organizers have announced.
The cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $5.8 billion each year, 4.1 billion of which is for direct medical and mental health care services, according to a 2003 study by the CDC. The health effects of domestic violence are staggering. In addition to the immediate trauma and injuries caused by abuse, domestic violence contributes to a number of chronic health problems and can interfere with the management of other illnesses.
Cornelius Hogan Resigns from Board
of Trustees
Cornelius (Con) Hogan has resigned his position on Fletcher Allens Board of Trustees. Hogan served as Secretary of the Agency of Human Services in Ver-mont from 1991-1999, and served as Acting Chair of the Vermont Health Care Authority in 1994. Hogan was appointed to the Fletcher Allen Board of Trustees by the Fanny Allen Corporation in December of 2002. No reason for the resignation was given and no replacement yet has been nominated.

BURLINGTON - The Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and GBIC
have gone live on the Web with "VOTE! 2004," which contains the results of
a survey of candidates running for state offices in the November 2 General
Election. Results are available at www.lcrccsurvey.org/candidates.
Those surveyed include candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor as
well as candidates for State Senator and State Representative from
Chittenden County. With a new and exciting theme and Web-based access,
the results are intended to help the business community learn more about
candidates and encourage and remind them to vote on Election Day.

Herlihy Is New Deputy Commissioner Of Vermont Department Of Tourism &
Marketing
MONTPELIER, Vt. - Cathy Herlihy of East Montpelier has been appointed the
new Deputy Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing
(VDTM). Herlihy takes over the post from Sybil Chicoine who left in late
September for a job in the private sector after serving as VDTM's Deputy
Commissioner since January of 2002.
Since 1995 Herlihy has been Director of Training & Marketing with the
Vermont Small Business Development Center (SBDC). SBDC is a non-profit
partnership of government, education, and business whose goal is to spur
Vermont's economy by helping small businesses succeed and grow through
training and consultation. SBDC is partially funded by the U.S. Small
Business Administration, the Vermont Department of Economic Development,
and the Vermont State Colleges.
