Community leaders Kathy Demars of Morrisville, Charles (Chuck) Hogan of Cambridge, Harry Miller of Craftsbury Common, and Carl Szlachetka of Hyde Park were elected to the Copley Health Systems, Inc. Board of Trustees during the Annual Meeting held on January 12th.

Patricia Donehower, R.N., MSN, and Virginia Hood, MB.BS, MPH, were appointed to The University of Vermont Medical Center Board of Trustees following approval by The University of Vermont Health Care Network Board of Trustees earlier this week.

The Converse Home, announced the election of new board member, Keller McKenzie, of Burlington. Keller is a Paralegal for Little & Cicchetti and a Law Clerk under the Vermont Board of Bar Examiner’s Four Year Law Office Study program. Tom Heinrich, of Colchester, Senior Account Manager with the Symquest Group, was elected Chair of the Board.

Ken Leslie has devoted much of his efforts over the past twenty-five years capturing, with paint, the changing winter and summer of the Artic.

NBT Bank continues its support of the communities it serves with a recent donation to support the efforts of the Williston Community Food Shelf.

Bond Auto Parts, Inc., a Barre, VT based company, created a fundraising mission during this past holiday season and raised $30,525 for local food shelves across its network of stores. Food shelves across the region are typically hit hard during the holiday season and the money raised can go to purchasing food to replenish their shelves or help run their programs.

Members of the Windsor Fire Department performed double duty recently as they took part in training activities at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center’s former Skilled Nursing Home facility.

Howard Center recently appointed Charlotte Ancel and Kerrick Johnson to three-year terms its board of trustees. Ancel and Johnson were appointed to fill three-year terms on the Board.

Peak Physical Therapy Sports and Performance Center introduces the newest member of their team, Mindy Cohen, MSPT. She is certified in CranioSacral Therapy which is a light touch technique that is used to detect and correct imbalances in the craniosacral system, which may be the cause of sensory, motor or neurological dysfunction.

The cofounders of Seven Days, Vermont’s free, independent weekly newspaper, have been chosen as two of this year’s inductees into the New England Newspaper Hall of Fame. Pamela Polston and Paula Routly will be honored at a ceremony during the New England Newspaper and Press Association conference in February.

The Vermont community has donated $110,000 for WARMTH, and coupled with the Merchants Bank matching grant of $40,000, a total of $150,000 was raised in the month of December alone to prevent Vermonters in need from going without heat.
