The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) has recognized Gifford Family Nurse Practitioner Megan O’Brien with the 2020 AANP Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence.

Seven Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the organization’s success during the bank’s annual all-employee meeting.

Marissa Landry, of OneDigital Health and Benefits in South Burlington, has completed her Benefits Account Manager Certification through the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). This certification represents hours of study as well as practical application, working with Vermont employers to manage their employee benefits.

Shirley A. Jefferson JD’86, associate dean of student affairs and diversity and associate professor of law at Vermont Law School (VLS), was honored at the 15th Annual National Black Pre-Law Conference on Saturday, Nov. 9, with the Legal Education Access and Diversity Champion Award.

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is pleased to announce that Jordan Giaconia has been hired as Public Policy Manager. In this role, Giaconia will support VBSR’s efforts to advance the organization’s policy goals, working closely with VBSR members.

Kevin M Eschelbach, of Barre, has been elected president of the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce. The appointment was announced today by board chair Joseph L Choquette III. Eschelbach is currently a senior district executive in the northeast quadrant of Vermont for the Boys Scouts of America. He will officially join the Chamber on December 9.

Luther Larsen is the newest addition to the TCE team, and joins us as a Staff Engineer. After graduating from Vermont Technical College with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering Technology, Luther went on to earn his Site Technician A and B licenses.

Col David Smith, commander, 158th Fighter Wing, announced he would retire from the Vermont Air National Guard. Smith informed women and men of the Vermont Air National Guard in a statement on Thursday messaging his upcoming retirement after more than 30 years in the organization.

Mary Engisch is the new local host of NPR’s Weekend Edition on VPR, which airs from 8-10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Engsich began hosting on the weekends in October. She joined VPR in 2011 as a board operator and announcer. From 2014-2018, she also hosted a weekly arts segment and interview with local artists.

Lawson’s Finest Liquids, a brewery, taproom and retail store in Waitsfield Vermont, welcomes Elisa Kiviranna as their Marketing Director. This is a new position on the Lawson’s Finest Leadership Team. Elisa will be responsible for maximizing the brand’s visibility, advancing the company’s online presence and public relations as well as supporting customer engagement and promotions.

Mark D. Rosalbo, CIC, CPIA, Senior Advisor for NFP in Vermont has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation. To earn this prestigious designation, Mark attended five courses covering all phases of the insurance business and passed five comprehensive examinations.

Norwich University officials announced that the College of Our Lady of the Elms President Harry E. Dumay, Ph.D, MBA, was elected to the Board of Trustees at the Board’s October 2019 meeting. Dumay became the 11th President of Elms College on July 1, 2017. He has served in higher education finance and administration at senior and executive levels for 19 years. He holds a Ph.D.
