Middlebury Interactive Languages (MIL), the premier provider of world language instruction for K-12 students, has named former Massachusetts Governor and national education leader Jane Swift as CEO.

Dr. William Lee Ellis, Memphis blues musician, classical guitarist, and ethnomusicologist, has been named Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, Music, at Saint Michael's College, starting this fall. Trained as a classical guitarist, Dr. Ellis is now a great advocate, performer and writer about traditional, blue grass and old time music.

Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, VT and Moses-Ludington Hospital announce the appointment of William “Chip” Holmes as president and chief executive officer, Moses-Ludington Hospital, effective Monday, October 31. He will also join the vice president team within Fletcher Allen Health Care.

Goodwill Industries of Northern New England announces Anna Eleanor Roosevelt as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will provide strategic guidance for Goodwill’s programs and retail stores in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced Thomas Kimball of Ferrisburgh has joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) as Controller. Kimball is a CPA and comes to the Agency with over 20 years experience in the accounting field. Most recently, he worked with Aon Insurance Managers as an Account Executive.

Poulos Insurance hired Joshua Pepin, CIC as an Account Executive, in their South Burlington office. Pepin is a Vermont native, a St. Michael’s Graduate, and brings nearly 8 years of experience to the Agency. Josh currently resides in Essex Jct with his wife. He will be offering both Commercial and Personal property and casualty insurance.

Saint Michael's College has named Brian D. Collier, installation artist/sculptor/digital media innovator as a new assistant professor of fine arts, starting this semester teaching courses in digital media and sculpture. Professor Collier’s work repeatedly addresses issues of environmental concern.

One of Orleans County’s most respected social workers has joined the staff of North Country Hospital in Newport. Edna (Trombley) LaClair-Petit began work as the medical social worker at two hospital owned practices – Community Medical Associates and Family Practice of Newport.

At a recent meeting of the Council of State Governments in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Senator Doyle received the first U.S.-Canada Leadership Award.

The award was “In recognition of Senator Doyle’s leadership and foresight in developing a truly regional strategy to integrate Canadian provincial partners in the work of the Council of State Government’s Eastern Region.”
