Since 2002, the Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame has recognized more than sixty athletes, pioneers and contributors who have made skiing or riding history in Vermont. Five new inductees will be celebrated at an Induction Ceremony presented by Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum on October 27, 2018 at Killington Grand Resort Hotel.

Dr Hurtado will be affiliated with Rutland General Surgery, a department of Rutland Regional Medical Center. He received his BS in Biology from the University of Miami, Hialeah, Florida and his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Col Matthew T Birmingham, director of the Vermont State Police, is pleased to announce the following transfer: Lieutenant Barbara Kessler, assistant staff operations commander at Headquarters, has been transferred to lieutenant/station commander at the Royalton Field Station. The transfer was effective Sept. 2, 2018.
Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced the selection of Sandra Connolly as Employee of the Month for August 2018. Connolly serves as MAHHC Inpatient Staffing Coordinator. As Inpatient Staffing Coordinator, Connolly is responsible for creating staff schedules and replacing staff as needed, for the Hospital’s Acute Unit, Emergency Room, and Rehabilitation Center.
Congratulations to W Scott Fine, President of Fab-Tech, who was recently presented the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award! Mr Fine was nominated for this honor by his citizen soldier employee, Bailey Gokey of Burlington. Sergeant Gokey serves as a Medic in the VT Army National Guard.

Adam Longworth and Lorien Wroten are the new Executive Chef and General Manager, respectively, at The Pitcher Inn in Warren, Vermont. Most recently the two owned and operated The Common Man Restaurant, also in Warren. Inn owner Maggie Smith says that this is a significant milestone for the inn that has hosted travelers since the 19th century.
Timothy P Collins, Regional Vice President and a Senior Commercial Lender at The Bank of Bennington, recently reminisced about the remarkable changes in banking in Vermont over the past 40 years. The biggest shift, he feels, took place when interstate banking regulations opened up Vermont and allowed banks from “outside” to operate in the state.
