Saint Michael’s College named Mallory Wood of Burlington, formerly of Chateaugay, N.Y., assistant director of marketing with a focus on social media, starting June 1. Ms. Wood was an admission counselor at the college from August 2008 till June 2010. Ms.

An experienced certified nurse midwife with a strong commitment to the midwifery philosophy has joined Gifford Medical Center’s robust, like-minded practice. Kathryn Saunders, who previously practiced at Central Vermont Medical Center, has joined Gifford Ob/Gyn and Midwifery in Randolph and Berlin.

Estate Planning Attorney Stephen A. Unsworth attended an educational conference in Boston, Massachusetts at the end of April sponsored by the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. The Academy conference provided attorneys with an invaluable opportunity to meet others in the profession and discuss ways to better serve the needs of their clients.

Bill Young, Executive Director of Maple Leaf Farm is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Miller as Food Service Director. Lisa joined the Food Service staff at Maple Leaf Farm in 2008 and prior to that was the head cook at Mount Mansfield Union High School for twelve years. Lisa’s husband and three grown children have challenged her cooking skills for much longer.

Paul Frank + Collins associate Kristina M. Roomet has joined the Board of Directors of the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (“VYCC”). The VYCC is a non-profit youth, leadership, service, conservation, and education organization that instills in young people ages 16-24, the values of personal responsibility, hard work, education, and respect for the environment.

Pediatrician Katya Petrova, MD, has joined the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital medical staff. She is in practice with Just So Pediatrics, located at 16 Belmont Avenue, across the street from the hospital. Dr.

Roland Palmer of Hinesburg, Vt., manager of Champlain College’s Development Operations, was awarded the 2010 Elizabeth A. Durick Staff Service Award, which recognizes a member of the staff who has had a positive impact on the college community.

The Office of the Provost at Champlain College has announced the following new faculty hires:

Andrew Burkhardt of Burlington has received the Lyrasis 2010 NextGen Librarian Award. He is Champlain College’s Emerging Technologies Librarian at the Miller Information Commons. This national award honors three librarians new to the library profession who demonstrate an innovative and fresh approach to the profession and are leaders in our rapidly changing world.

At its annual meeting in Maine on June 8th, Secretary Roger Allbee of Vermont was unanimously elected President of the Northeast Association of the State Departments of Agriculture.
