St Michael’s College President John J. Neuhauser will be a tournament judge for the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship, a technology contest involving some 400 to 450 high school students from Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Michigan.

Green Works/Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Industry Award Program. A panel of industry professionals and landscape architects met in Janaury. Projects were judged according to difficulty, proper horticultural practices, craftsmanship, and contributions to the quality of sustainability to the environment.

During the dates of February 11th and 12th, 2013, Stafford Technical Center Hospitality and Entrepreneurship students participated in the annual Vermont DECA Career and Development Conference. Events include public speaking, role plays and written tests. Students that earned gold medals and 2nd year students will be attending the National DECA Conference in Anaheim, California in April.

Neel Desai, 18, and Michaela Forgione, 12, both of South Burlington, have been named Vermont's top two youth volunteers of 2013 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. Neel was nominated by South Burlington High School in South Burlington, and Michaela was nominated by Mater Christi School in Burlington.

Walter E. Judge, Jr., an attorney at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, was re-elected by his peers in the Vermont Bar Association to serve a third two-year term on the Vermont Judicial Nominating Board. Judge’s term will expire in 2015.

Vermont Technical College is pleased to announce that Meredith Roberts Interim BSN Director, Associate Professor has been appointed by the National League for Nursing to serve as an NLN ambassador.

The Vermont Ski Areas Association (VSAA) is excited to announce two staff changes for 2013. Kyle Lewis, formerly the Marketing Manager at Ski Vermont, has been promoted to the role of Director of Marketing, replacing Jason Gibbs who stepped down in December 2012 to start his own consulting firm.

Dr. Alicia Cunningham has announced the opening of her concierge internal medicine practice in South Burlington, Vermont. This new, simple medical practice model is sweeping the nation, and is one of the fastest growing trends in American health care. With it, Dr. Cunningham can bring simple, long-overdue changes to how patients are cared for in the Lake Champlain region.

Patricia Venti was recently named Director of Advancement at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home. Visitation at the historic Lincoln site in Manchester, experienced an 18% increase in admissions in 2012 so she joins the Hildene team at a time of unprecedented growth.

The Family Practice of Newport has a new manager but she isn't new to the practice. She is Pam Jefferson RN. Pam has worked as the practice's triage nurse for the last two years.

Pam accepted the position on October 28. She will be managing the very busy primary care practice of Dr. James Holcomb, Dr. Rachel DiSanto, Dr. John Lippman, Linda Chasse, FNP, and Nicole Engler, FNP.

Middlebury College has announced the appointment of Carolyn Kuebler as editor of the New England Review, a quarterly literary journal published by the college. She will assume her new responsibilities in January 2014, when Stephen Donadio steps down from his role as editor, a position he has held since 1994.

Former Freestyle Junior National Mogul Champion, 2-Time Junior World Team Member and Killington Mountain School (KMS) alumnus Nick Keating ’10 has been named to the U.S. Freestyle Team roster for athletes to compete at the World Cup event in Sochi, Russia, this month. The event is an Olympic test event in preparation for the 2014 Games.
