The University of Vermont Alumni Association and UVM Foundation honored outstanding graduates and faculty at its annual Alumni Weekend celebration on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

The merger committee of Revitalizing Waterbury / Waterbury Tourism Council today announced the appointment of the board of directors for the merged organization Mark Drutman, Melissa (Missy) Gorham, Rob Hofmann, Jeffrey Larkin, Cindy Lyons, Jamie Neuman, and Theresa Wood will be the 7-member board that kicks off this new organization.

The Brattleboro Retreat is pleased to announce the appointment of two new trustees, Kate O’Connor and Adam Grinold, who officially joined the hospital’s board of directors on Friday, September 23rd . Brattleboro resident Kate O’Connor currently serves as the executive director of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and the vice chair of the Brattleboro Select Board.

The firm welcomes Rutland area resident Donna Zeller, Vermont native Justin Waag, and former Maine resident Derek Cypher. Ms Zeller has joined groSolar’s Rutland office as a Project Administrator. Ms Zeller holds valuable experience in both the engineering and energy industries, and previously served as Town Clerk and Treasurer for the Town of Rutland.

After graduating from college and realizing that a career in teaching wasn’t what he expected, Berrini turned to Westaff, in Burlington, VT, for work. He was placed in a variety of temporary assignments, and recently bridged to a permanent job at Burton—a worldwide manufacturer of snowboards, bindings, boots, outerwear, and accessories.

Launa is an experienced Estate and Elder Law Attorney who has practiced in Rhode Island and Vermont after graduating cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2010. She is a member of the Financial Abuse Specialists Team (“FAST”), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (“NAELA”), and the NAELA Journal Editorial Board.

Jean-Marie Clark has been appointed dean of the Vermont Tech Williston campus, and Maureen Hebert is the new associate dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Clark, of Bakersfield, has worked at Vermont Tech since 2004. She first joined the school as coordinator of student activities and later served as the associate dean of the Williston campus.

Nearly a year and a half after being diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease, Craftsbury, Vermont textile artist Ceci Leibovitz has launched a jewelry collection utilizing local historical materials and her own hand embroideries. Leibovitz is already gaining attention for her work; she has been accepted into Vermont Hand Crafters, the oldest and largest juried craft organization in the state.

Northern Community Investment Corporation (NCIC) is pleased to introduce Mark Butterfield as the latest addition to the NCIC staff. Mark will fill the role of Business Resource Manager, serving as the primary lending agent for the organization. Mark brings with him 25 years of commercial lending and economic development experience.

Environments for Health (E4H), an architecture firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, is adding staff at each of its locations throughout the country. Having formed in 2016 through the merger of three firms- MorrisSwitzer Environments for Health, Ascension Group Architects, and daSilva Architects—E4H now has offices in Dallas, New York, Boston, Maine and Vermont.

Lund’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the recent election of its new board president and five new members to the Board of Trustees. Paulette Thabault of South Burlington was elected as President. Paulette has served on Lund’s board for the past nine years and has chaired Lund’s Strategic Planning and Governance Committees.

Richard E Barnes of the AR Sandri Company has been recognized by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin for his long-term service to the state of Vermont as a member of the state's Petroleum Cleanup Fund Advisory Committee. Barnes, who also chairs the Vermont Petroleum Association's Executive Committee, retired last month from A.R.
