The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes, an award that celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds all across North America, announces its 2017 winners.

Autumn Harp, Inc, contract manufacturer of cosmetics and skin care, today announced the promotion of Hillary Burrows to Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, she will oversee new business development as well as finance, HR, and IT functions for the company.

The Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont has announced the appointment of Adam Atherly, PhD, as the College’s first director of health services research and professor of medicine, effective February 1, 2018. Atherly is currently a professor of health systems, management and policy at the Colorado School of Public Health.

The National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) announced that it has elected Vermont State Treasurer Beth Pearce as its 2018 President during the association’s annual conference in Boston. Treasurer Pearce will succeed outgoing President Ken Miller, the State Treasurer of Oklahoma, on January 1, 2018.

The Northwestern Vermont Board of REALTORS (NVBR) awarded its 2017 REALTORS of Distinction Awards recently at Echo, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Over 200 industry representatives and guests were present at the annual event.

Nick Dupuis joins VT Commercial as an intern for the Fall of 2017. Nick is a student at the University of Vermont pursuing a degree in Community Entrepreneurship with a minor in Spanish. Nick is also an NCAA Division 1 student-athlete as a part of the Catamount men’s lacrosse team. He is a two-time America East Academic Honor Roll selection.

Peggy Price, MEd, Fellow/AOGPE, Director of the Orton-Gillingham Institute at the Stern Center for Language and Learning, was asked to speak at her alma mater, Binghamton University. On September 15, Price returned to the Binghamton, NY campus where she received her bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
