23 Southern Vermont Emerging Leaders were recognized at the 3rd Annual Southern Vermont Economy Summit on May 23rd. Southern Vermont Young Professionals and the Shires Young Professionals co-hosted the third annual recognition event which celebrates young people from the Bennington and Windham regions.

Shelburne Farms is pleased to announce that John Patterson, former Executive Chef at Fork, in Philadelphia, PA has joined the Farm as its new Executive Chef. In this position, he will be responsible for managing Shelburne Farms’ farm-to-table restaurant at the Inn. Jim McCarthy, now Executive Chef Emeritus, will continue on during this transition season.

Camp Thorpe (www.campthorpe.org), now in its 92nd season of providing a fun and safe summer camp experience for children and adults with special needs from throughout Vermont, has hired a new Executive Director, Heather Moore of Burlington, starting June 17th.

The Journalism Education Foundation of New England, a division of the New England Newspaper & Press Association, has announced the recipients of their 2019 scholarships. This year, $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to four collegiate students and one high school student. The Vermont winners are Alexandre Silberman of Burlington and Sarah Asch of Middlebury.
