The Vermont Grocers' Association has elected Darcy Nutter of Price Chopper Supermarkets as its new Chair. Darcy is a zone manager for the family owned chain with responsibility for their southern Vermont stores as well as their New Hampshire markets and some of their New York locations.

Lyndon State College Professor John DeLeo, who heads up the College’s GIS/GPS program, was recently certified as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP). This designation certifies that DeLeo meets the ethical and professional standards set by the Geographic Information Systems Certification Institute.

Peter Gregory, Executive Director of the Two River-Ottauquechee Regional Commission in Woodstock, Vermont, was elected Treasurer of the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) on September 1, 2009 at the association’s annual business meeting. The meeting was held in conjunction with NADO’s 42nd annual training conference in Chicago, Illinois.

Fletcher Allen Health Care has announced that Glen Wright has been elected Chair of the hospital's Foundation board. Wright, a native Vermonter and former managing partner of KPMG LLP's Burlington office, succeeds Edwin I. Colodny as chair of Fletcher Allen's fundraising board. In addition, Brian Boardman has been elected Vice Chair, and Emily Morrow has assumed the position of Secretary.

Dr. John O’Meara, Saint Michael's College assistant professor of physics, learned last week that he and five colleagues from around the country have received a $474,617 grant from NASA, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, to carry out a study of galaxies and their halos. Professor O’Meara’s portion of the grant is $46,983.

College of St. Joseph is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristie Johnson as the New Business Manager at the College. Kristie began her career with the College of St. Joseph in September 1993 as the Student Financial Services Coordinator.
