Bill Young, executive director of Maple Leaf Farm has announced the addition of John Thaxton to the staff. As Admissions Clerk, John is responsible for assisting over 800 people annually with admission to the program. John is currently working toward substance abuse counseling certification.

Robert Stearns, Head Professional of the Manchester Country Club in Manchester, Vermont, has been named to the additional post of General Manager, it was announced today by Rudy Weaver, President of the Club.

Vermont Business Roundtable chair, Bill Stritzler, Managing Director of Smugglers’ Notch Resort, has announced the election of three Vermont CEOs to three-year terms on the Board of Directors. The new directors assumed their roles during the Roundtable’s Annual Membership meeting on January 14, 2010.

Dr. Mandeep Hundal has joined Gifford Medical Center’s hospitalist inpatient care team. Dr. Hundal was previously a hospitalist in Wyoming at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born in India and attended the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. But Dr. Hundal was looking for residency opportunities outside of his homeland.

BioTek Instruments, Inc. announces Brad Larson’s promotion to Principal Scientist. Mr. Larson will continue to develop BioTek’s scientific presence in life science and drug discovery markets, and reports to Peter Banks, Scientific Director.

FairPoint Communications has named Michael C. Reed, a 40-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, as Maine State President. In his new role, Reed will be responsible for regulatory matters, governmental relations, and economic development for FairPoint Communications in the Pine Tree State.

Richard R. Cascio recently joined Chittenden Bank’s Commercial Lending Team as the Southern Vermont Regional Manager. Richard is responsible for all Commercial Lending activity in White River Junction, Brattleboro, Rutland, Manchester and Bennington.

Michele Ready Ambrosino of South Burlington VT is Owner and Funeral Director of Ready Funeral Service, Inc. Ambrosino served on the March of Dimes Board of Directors for the past six years. During that time, she was active on the Program Services Committee and the Special Events Committee. She chaired the Signature Chef’s event for the past four years.

Shelburne Museum has hired a paintings conservator to assist with treating 20 of the museum’s most important American paintings, Museum Director Stephan Jost announced.
