CHCB Announces Promotions and New Leadership Staff

The Community Health Center of Burlington (CHCB) is pleased to announce the following leadership staff new hires and promotions:

Patti Fisher, M.D., has been appointed CHCB’s Medical Director. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College and the University of Texas at Houston Medical School and completed her residency at Forbes Family Practice in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Fisher provides primary, prenatal and obstetrical care at CHCB’s Safe Harbor Clinic serving homeless adults and families and at our main facility on Riverside Avenue in Burlington. As Medical Director, Dr. Fisher will develop new health care program initiatives for the 13,000 Vermonters currently served by CHCB.

David Adams, M.D., joined CHCB’s medical team in December. Dr. Adams received his Bachelor of Arts from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He attended the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine in Denver and headed further West for his residency in Family Medicine, which he completed at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Adams' professional interests include international health and providing full-spectrum medical care to entire families

Andrea Solomon, PA, has joined CHCB’s medical team. A graduate of Skidmore College, she completed her Physician Assistant training at the University of New England. Formerly, Ms. Solomon worked at the VT Respite House as a house manager and then as a medical technician at a pediatric ophthalmologic office in NYC. Her medical interests include geriatrics and women’s health.

Vedad Arapovic, M.L.S., M.N.S., has been promoted to Lab Supervisor. Mr. Arapovic has been with CHCB since 2002 as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist. He has a BA in Science from UVM, a Masters in Laboratory Science from the University of Zagreb, and a Masters in Nursing Science from the School of Allied Health Science in Bosnia.

Ellen Lambert, A.A., has been named Assistant Lab Supervisor, assisting with all aspects of daily lab operations and will directly supervise Phlebotomy. Ellen joined CHCB in 2006 as a Phlebotomist and Lab Assistant. She has significant prior experience at Fletcher Allen, the American Red Cross, and the New York Blood Center. Ellen has an Associates degree from Suffolk Community College.

Jenileah Hallingbye, M.B.A., has joined CHCB as the Community Giving Manager. Mrs. Hallingbye holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and an M.B.A with a non-profit marketing emphasis from the University of Wyoming. Mrs. Hallingbye will support CHCB’s mission by developing partnerships with local businesses, increasing community awareness, and managing annual giving campaigns and special events.

One of Burlington's largest family medical and dental practices and one of eight non-profit, federally qualified health centers in Vermont, the Community Health Center of Burlington provides comprehensive health, dental, and human services to all Vermonters, regardless of life circumstances. Services include a sliding fee scale to insure access to care for low income, uninsured community residents, behavioral health, free and low cost prescription programs; social work support; and interpreter services for non-English speaking patients. CHCB’s Homeless Health Care Program offers a full range of services at two specialized clinics, the Safe Harbor Clinic for adults and families at 184 South Winooski Avenue and the Pearl Street Clinic designed for at-risk youth and young adults located on Pearl Street. CHCB is funded in part by a grant from the US Health Resources and Services Administration and generous community support.
