Yacouba Jacob Bogre of Colchester, Vermont was elected to the Opportunities Credit Union Board of Directors at the 2010 Annual Meeting. Jacob is the Executive Director of the Association of Africans Living in Vermont Inc. He received his Master in Law degree from the University of Ouagadougou.

At the annual meeting held in July, John Ewing, founder of Smart Growth Vermont, stepped down as Chair of the board. He will remain as an active board member, with the title of Founder. Robin Scheu, Executive Director of the Addison County Economic Development Corporation in Middlebury, is the new board Chair.

On August 3-7, more than 450 professional truck drivers from all 50 states will meet in Columbus, Ohio, to put their safe-driving skills to the test in the National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC), known as “the Super Bowl of Safety.” Drivers earn the right to compete in this prestigious annual event by first winning titles in their respective vehicles classes at the state level.
