Paul Graves, a snowboard innovator and legend of the sport, and Rob Apple, a Vermont industry executive with deep ties to skiing, have been elected Directors of the Vermont Ski Museum. The Vermont Ski Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating Vermont's ski and snowboarding history. The Museum also announced a search for a President to expand the institution's communications and fundraising activities.
"We're very fortunate that Paul and Rob have decided to lend their many talents and energy to helping move the Vermont Ski Museum forward," said Museum Board Chair Lynne Bertram in announcing the new board members at the May 27th Annual Membership Meeting. "We look forward to their contributions in the coming months and years as they join our board."
Bertram presented Brian Lindner with the Board Appreciation Award in thanks for his extensive historical lecture series given in 2009-2010. Julie Egenberg and Denise Cushwa received the Volunteer of the Year Awards. Egenberg and Cushwa ran the 2009-2010 Annual Support Campaign which achieved 98% of its goal. The Board recognized and thanked retiring Board members Rosie Fortna, Peter Graves, Tom Hubbs, and David Jaqua. The Board of Directors and staff extended their thanks to the volunteers, members, and supporters of the Museum.
