ESSEX JCT, VT – Krystal Smith of the Hannaford Supermarket on North Ave,
Burlington, bested other competitors to become the 2010 Vermont “Best
Bagger.” The competition took place September 25 during the Vermont Food
Industry’s annual convention and expo at the Miller Expo Centre at the
Champlain Valley Exposition.

Jim Currier and his Currier’s Quality Market in Glover, was
honored by the Vermont Grocers' Association with the VGA “Retailer of the
Year” award during the association’s annual convention at the Sheraton
Burlington. The award was presented in recognition of their involvement with
the community, food industry, store operations and customer service.

strategist. Kosakowski comes to KSV from New York, where she worked with

Penny Coleman, RN, has joined the Lebanon, New Hampshire Branch of Armistead Caregiver Services. Penny has been an RN for over 30 years mostly working in the home health field. Most recently she worked with the Upper Valley Visiting Nurse’s Association where she was an intake nurse in their Referral Services department.
All nine participants of a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) training program have graduated and are now employed by Fletcher Allen in either full or part time positions in inpatient areas of the hospital. To earn the LNA positions, the students participated in a unique training program offered by Fletcher Allen and Vermont HITEC.
Kathleen Brinegar, Ph.D., assistant professor of education, has a specialty in middle school/adolescent education. A former middle-grades teacher, she taught at the University of Vermont and was a research associate coordinating the Vermont Adolescent Literacy and Learning Initiative.
NRG Systems, Inc., manufacturer of wind measurement equipment for the global wind energy industry, announces the addition of Lauren Hahl as sales account manager. Lauren comes to NRG Systems from Utility Risk Management Corporation where she served as a senior sales manager overseeing sales strategy and new client acquisition.
Kristen Mullins recently started work at the University of Vermont Extension, accepting the position of youth farm safety coordinator. Her grant-funded position identifies farm safety issues specific to smaller, diversified farms, and uses those findings to create additional modules for the online curriculum Gearing Up for Safety, a Purdue University project.

George L. Ashline, Saint Michael's College professor of mathematics, earned the top Saint Michael’s service award, the Norbert A.
