The Family Practice of Newport has a new manager but she isn't new to the practice. She is Pam Jefferson RN. Pam has worked as the practice's triage nurse for the last two years.

Pam accepted the position on October 28. She will be managing the very busy primary care practice of Dr. James Holcomb, Dr. Rachel DiSanto, Dr. John Lippman, Linda Chasse, FNP, and Nicole Engler, FNP.

Middlebury College has announced the appointment of Carolyn Kuebler as editor of the New England Review, a quarterly literary journal published by the college. She will assume her new responsibilities in January 2014, when Stephen Donadio steps down from his role as editor, a position he has held since 1994.

Former Freestyle Junior National Mogul Champion, 2-Time Junior World Team Member and Killington Mountain School (KMS) alumnus Nick Keating ’10 has been named to the U.S. Freestyle Team roster for athletes to compete at the World Cup event in Sochi, Russia, this month. The event is an Olympic test event in preparation for the 2014 Games.

The administrative home of the University of Vermont College of Arts and Sciences at 438 College St. will be named after one of UVM’s longest serving and most successful presidents, Lattie F. Coor.

Barber, a matrimonial and family law attorney at the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, has been chosen for membership in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group of attorneys recognized for excellence in litigation and superior legal skills in the areas of complex family and matrimonial law matters.

Leslie Broun Mastrianni, a resident of Barre, Vermont, has received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, for her contributions in the field of education of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. A leading educator and author, Mastianni is being recognized for significant achievement and remarkable service to Canada.

Thomas Fahner and Connie Sanderson are the new Co-Executive Directors of Kurn Hattin Homes for Children, a charitable home and school for children whose families are experiencing a time of need. The two will split the organization's top administrative duties with Fahner as head of Residential and Academic Life, and Sanderson overseeing Business Operations and Institutional Advancement.

The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators has named Vermont State Treasurer Beth Pearce as its 2013 President.

In November of 2012 Tammy Russell joined The Vermont Teddy Bear Co. as a seasonal Administer working in our Distribution Center. Tammy managed staffing models, schedules, and customer service. Because of Tammy’s outstanding success she was given a full time position in January of 2013.

As part of the run up to this year’s American Spirit Awards, Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) Faculty Chair in Film and 2013 American Spirit Award nominee Laura Colella won a $50,000 grant from Film Independent in Los Angeles to help support distribution of her nominated film BREAKFAST WITH CURTIS.
