Green Works/Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Industry Award Program. A panel of industry professionals and landscape architects met in Janaury. Projects were judged according to difficulty, proper horticultural practices, craftsmanship, and contributions to the quality of sustainability to the environment.
During the dates of February 11th and 12th, 2013, Stafford Technical Center Hospitality and Entrepreneurship students participated in the annual Vermont DECA Career and Development Conference. Events include public speaking, role plays and written tests. Students that earned gold medals and 2nd year students will be attending the National DECA Conference in Anaheim, California in April.
Neel Desai, 18, and Michaela Forgione, 12, both of South Burlington, have been named Vermont's top two youth volunteers of 2013 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. Neel was nominated by South Burlington High School in South Burlington, and Michaela was nominated by Mater Christi School in Burlington.
Walter E. Judge, Jr., an attorney at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, was re-elected by his peers in the Vermont Bar Association to serve a third two-year term on the Vermont Judicial Nominating Board. Judge’s term will expire in 2015.
