The Vermont State Colleges (VSC) Board of Trustees announced Thursday that the Community College of Vermont’s Winooski academic center would be renamed the Tim Donovan Academic Center to honor VSC Chancellor Tim Donovan.

Donovan has served the VSC with distinction for 38 years and in varying positions. He will retire at the end of this month.

The People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, announced today that it has awarded $5,000 to Life Bridge, Inc.

The Automaster announced that sales consultants Spencer Campbell and Zack Philbrook , have been recognized and certified by Mercedes-Benz as product concierges.

The concierge program was introduced to dealers in May at the brand’s annual dealer meetings at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Vance, AL, near Tuscon.

The Vermont Tree Farm program has announced that consulting forester Paul Harwood has been named as the Northeast Regional Tree Farm forester for 2015. Harwood was nominated (surreptitiously) by the Tree Farm committee for his exemplary service to Tree Farmers and the Tree Farm program. He has been involved with the program since 1975.

Delores Barbeau, MD, MPH, was named Physician of the Year by the Vermont Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians. This distinguished award, presented by co-worker Barbara Dalton, MD, recognizes Dr. Barbeau’s long-standing reputation as “an outstanding physician and humanitarian,” acknowledged by fellow practitioners and staff at the Springfield Health Center.

The Vermont Lake Monsters have announced that Joe Doud has been promoted to General Manager, becoming the sixth GM in the New York-Penn League team's 22-year history. Doud, who has served as the team’s Assistant General Manager for the past four seasons, will focus on the organization’s day-to-day operations.

Vermont Gas has announced Beth Parent has joined the team as Corporate Communications Manager.
