Dr Richard Daniel began work as the new vice president for institutional advancement at Saint Michael’s College on August 15, 2016. Daniel looked into what it might mean to lead advancement efforts for the socially aware Catholic institution outside of Burlington.

Liz Sheehan, RN, has been named Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) Employee of the Month for July, 2016. Sheehan heads the nursing staff at Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) and was cited by Anel Sirois, CMA Nurse Manager/Clinical Leader for her hard work and dedication to the staff and patients at OHC.

Johnson State College has appointed Hannah Miller as an assistant professor in the Education Department. Miller is serving as JSC’s elementary education specialist and is helping to direct the college’s inclusive elementary education program.

Gov. Peter Shumlin announced that August Burns of Middlesex has been commissioned to paint his official portrait, which will be donated to the State House collection. Vermont has a tradition of displaying the portraits of governors throughout the State House.
