Mike Palagonia, director of public safety at Vermont State University, has been named to the board of directors of the Northeast Colleges and Universities Security Association. Palagonia has been a member of NECUSA, the oldest campus law enforcement organization in the U.S., for nearly a decade.

Rutland Regional Medical Center has honored Drs. Steven Runyan and Douglas Dier, nurse midwife Sarah Barton and physician assistant Jordan Carr with its 2024 Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers of the Year Awards. Runyan and Barton represented Rutland Regional Medical Center, and Dier and Carr represented the Rutland area community.

Kate Cappleman Sinz, a social work care manager with the Integrated Care Management program at University of Vermont Children’s Hospital, has been named Mental Health Advocate of the Year by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont.

Dr. Rhonda Gale Whittie-Bradford has joined Gifford Medical Center, providing inpatient care as part of the hospitalist team for the 25-bed critical access hospital. Bradford previously worked as a staff physician nocturnist with Gifford in a temporary role.

Stephen G. Jones, a retired institutional real estate executive, has been appointed to the Norwich University Board of Trustees. Jones is a 1971 businesses administration graduate of the university.

Community National Bank has announced the promotion of Amanda Pepin from assistant vice president to vice president and credit administration officer. Pepin joined Community National in 2008 as a credit analyst in 2015 and earned several promotions in the succeeding years.
