Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has promoted Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mark J. McDonnell to president and chief operating officer of the 196-year-old group of companies — one of nine new officers elected by the board of directors at its April 17 annual meeting. He succeeds former president and current CEO Daniel C. Bridge, who is set to retire at the end of the current year.

Union Mutual Insurance Co. has promoted Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Jennifer Galfetti to chief operating officer of the property casualty insurance group.

Galfetti assumes the role of COO at a momentous time for the company, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary and seeks regulatory approval for an affiliation with the Massachusetts-based Norfolk & Dedham Group. Before regulatory approval for the affiliation is granted, Galfetti will serve in the dual role of chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

Josh Pang, former chief commercial officer at Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, has been appointed Northern division president at Mack Molding, a leading custom plastic injection molder and supplier of contract manufacturing services. He will succeed Mack Molding President Jeff Somple, who has announced plans to retire later this year.
