Community Health board elects Morlino, Mead to leadership posts

Nancy Morlino, a self-employed marketing consultant, and Jade Mead, a peer support specialist at Counseling Services of Addison County, have been elected chair and vice chair, respectively, of the board of directors at Community Health. Both will serve for a four-year term.

The 16-member Community Health volunteer board oversees the health care organization’s medical, dental and behavioral health primary care services in Rutland and southern Addison counties and supports a workforce of over 420 clinical and administrative professionals.

North Country Hospital welcomes CFO Fred Schaffner

Fred Schaffner, former vice president of finance at Spectrum Healthcare Group in Prescott, Arizona, has joined North Country Hospital in Newport as chief financial officer. Schaffner has 30 years' experience in financial management in nonprofit, behavioral health care and acute care.

Schaffner holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Creighton University and a bachelor's in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was granted his CPA license from the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy.

VNA & Hospice honors Boland, Durfee as employees of quarter

VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, has recognized social worker Jennifer Boland and Information Technology Specialist Joseph Durfee as the agency's Clinical and Nonclinical Employees of the Quarter, respectively.

Boland was honored for her dedication to her patients, consistently going above and beyond to ensure they get the care they need at the time they need it. Durfee was recognized for his helpfulness, teamwork and positive attitude.

Harrington elected as incoming chair of Chamber of Commerce Executives

Matt Harrington, executive director of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, has been elected as incoming chair of the Vermont Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, a nonprofit organization representing 30 chambers across the state. He will succeed Betsy Bishop, who will be stepping down from her role as president of the Vermont Chamber and as chair of VACCE.

GlobalFoundries women honored for leadership by Manufacturing Institute

Two employees of GlobalFoundries, Senior Director of Central Facilities Jennifer Robbins and Senior Integration Engineer Katelyn Harrison, were honored April 18 in Washington, D.C., by the Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development and education affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers. Robbins was recognized as a 2024 Women MAKE Awards honoree, while Harrison was honored as an Emerging Leader.
