CVMC employees Sarah Bache, PT and Linda Thuren, BSN, RN achieve wound care certification

Sarah Bache, PT, has been awarded her WCC® (Wound Care Certified) through the National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC). The WCC scope of practice is performed in accordance with legislative code and scope of practice as determined by each respective professional state regulatory board.

Linda Thuren, BSN, RN was certified CWOCN by the Wound Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board, the only certification exclusively for nurses with a bachelor’s degree or higher who practice in the areas of wound, ostomy and continence.

Barton Clinic welcomes new doctor

Barton has a new doctor in town and he plans to plant his roots deep into the Northeast Kingdom soil.

Dr. Robert Hawkins joined the Barton Clinic on Elm Street in Barton in May. He joins nurse practitioner Rachel Pelletier in serving the healthcare needs of the people of the greater Barton area. Dr. Hawkins brings with him a wealth of experience in primary care medicine.

“I was fortunate to find the Barton Clinic in my pursuit for country living, Dr. Hawkins said. “I am excited about practicing medicine here. “

Champlain College names three interim deans

Champlain College will welcome three interim deans this summer to its divisions of Education and Human Studies (EHS), Information Technology and Sciences (ITS), and Communication and Creative Media (CCM). The interim deans will lead the three divisions while the College seeks permanent replacements for the positions, according to Champlain College Provost and Chief Academic Officer Robin Abramson.

Cody Dolloff – A Journey into the World of Healthcare

A junior at Lake Region Union High School, Cody Dolloff of Albany, Vermont isn’t exactly sure what he wants to do with his life. The one thing he does know is he wants to work in the world of healthcare.

“I really want to be able to help people,” Cody said while he and 19 other high school students from around the northern half of the state spent a day at North Country Hospital in Newport. They were part of a program called MedQuest.
